Bordeaux bitches

What's uuuuppp...

I got out of bed with the wrong leg this morning I guess... It really wasn't my day so I need something to look back to. Why not do a little throwback to my Bordeaux times!

As some of you might know, I've been to Bordeaux for 2 weeks last year to visit my wonderful friend Frankiiieee. She was studying there and I just had to visit her you know!

So, for our French course, we had to visit a city in France which we could choose ourselves. First we had to make small groups and then I suggested to go to Bordeaux. We were a group of 5 and everyone agreed on the city of the wonderful wines! And thank God, we got it! So we booked our trip from 5 - 10 June and I was more than ready for it!

Sooo my mom dropped me off at the airport and I was packed and ready to go!
We arrived around noon and we were so hungry! I knew my way around town and I knew where I had to be to get some good food so we went for thai food on the first day. Always a good idea!

That evening I also passed Frankie's mansion when she was studying there. Seriously, I couldn't help but smile at that place, the things that happened there. I would like to tell you about it but what happens in Bordeaux...

For our French course we had to visit some companies and it was quite nice to explore the city in another way. But there were days when we only had half an hour to eat and I used it to go shopping, ofcourse...

We had to visit 4 companies and 1 school and we had to compare them with Belgian enterprises. The company that I loved the most was Maison Sichel. Yes, you've guessed it, wine!

Bordeaux is such a nice city to visit! It was also quite crowded this time because of the European Championship of football. The streets were all filled with footballfans so the atmosphere was so nice!

We also had a day off the day and the weather was good so we decided to go to Arcachon beach! Sun, sea, girlfriends and cocktails. Is there anything better?

I really can't help but to be in love with this city. My French isn't even that good but I would go there anytime!

PS: we passed our French course!

The Vilnius report

Hello boys & girls!

Guess what, I'm baaacckk!!! Aaand I have so much to tell you, and so many places I have to show you! There are a lot of things that have happend in those 2 months that I didn't blog. For example, went to Vilnius, did my internship, went to Bordeaux, graduated, got a job (not necessarily in that order)... But I will tell you all about it in my next posts. I'll do it one per one and we'll start with my Vilnius adventure.

So from 1-5 May, 4 students of our school were asked to participate on an international project. Since I've done 2 IP's before, the school asked me if I wasn't interested in going to Vilnius for a couple of days. How can I say no to a small trip??

So there it was, the 1st May... It was shortly after the attacks at Brussels Airport so I had to be at the airport 3 hours in advance. I totally couldn't find my way around the buildings and the waiting lines were really big so I was really happy when I finally got to my gate.

I went out the night before and I was still a bit tired and maybe even sick (if you know what I mean, talking about a hangover...) But it was so funny because I knew the flight attendant and she gave me chocolates so my trip couldn't have started any better! ;)

It was early in the evening when we finally got to our hotel. No one of the other countries was there so we went to explore the city with just the 4 of us. Went for a nice Chinese dinner and called it a day.

The next day we met the other participants and we were divided into small groups to work on a specific theme. The weather in Vilnius was quite good for that time of the year so I couldn't wait to go out that evening!

That next day we had to get up sooo early to visit some companies. It was a 2h long trip with the bus but thank god they had wifi! I enjoyed myself by making silly snapchats.

I didn't go out in Vilnius because I had to finish my bachelor thesis for school since graduating was more important than beerpong. I have my responsible days as well ;)

There was one thing that I loved about Vilnius. I don't remember the name of the store but 500m from our apartment there was a frozen yoghurt/cupcake store. I felt like I was in heaven! The girl even gave me a customer card and I managed to get 3 stamps so don't even ask how many times a day I passed the store...

Our trip was coming to an end and we (the girls) decided to go out for dinner together. We didn't know where to go but we had a very nice evening. It was on a Friday and so many young people were out on the streets, preparing for a night out.

There are many things to see in Vilnius and everything is quite cheap in comparison to what you pay in Belgium and this goes for everything. They have a lot of pretty buildings and there was a festival the day we had to leave. They had like different "foodtrucks" in the city center from all different countries and their specialities. If you would like any tips about where to go, don't hesitate to contact me!

Lots of love
